Blending Step-Families

Blending step-families is one of the most difficult challenges. There are so many obstacles and there seems to be no clear road-map for success.

It’s frustrating to learn that the love new partners have for each other and their kids isn’t always enough. This job of blending can push the most in love and otherwise amazing couple to the brink.

At the core of this challenge, lies the task of building an effective co-parenting team. In addition to love, commitment and trust, good communication skills are an essential team-building ingredient.

While, we may be very effective communicators in the workplace, we all know it’s different communicating at home. At home, there’s so much more in play and so much more to lose. Add to this the complex task of blending families and you have a challenge that can overwhelm the strongest and brightest among us.

At this point, seeking an experienced, professional counselor is a good choice. I've helped many couples work to blend the separate families they love into a positive, loving whole; into a family where the love of the adults can flourish and in turn create a nurturing, consistent environment for their children.

To this end, I help couples increase their marital and parenting effectiveness. This therapy will include work on communication skills, building a co-parenting team and assisting the adults and children develop healthy relationships.

Contact me and we'll schedule a free 30 minute in-office consultation to talk over your situation and how therapy can help.
