Marriage and Couples Therapy
Feeling
Emotionally Unable to Resolve
Living Parallel Lacking Sexual
Disconnected?
Differences?
Lives?
Intimacy?
If you're going over the same problems again and again without resolution, it
might be time to meet with a couples or marriage counselor.
During 14 years of practice, my emphasis
on couples and marriage counseling has resulted in the approach outlined below:
Phase 1:
We'll examine and practice with communication tools needed to create a more positive relationship
environment. This will include learning more about reactivity in difficult conversations and ways to
reduce defensiveness and increase effectiveness and positive connection.
Phase 2: We'll explore the history of this current relationship, what brought
you together and what has led to distance and dissatisfaction over the years. As we identify contributing
factors and events, we'll work to heal the wounds and in that process increase intimacy and trust.
Phase 3: We'll also explore
earlier relationships, especially those from your childhood and the influences of those formative experiences.
We'll look at you how you came to see yourself as you grew up and the relationship style you developed in those
early years. Along the way, we'll work to heal any childhood wounds in an effort to increase your personal
and relationship happiness.
Go ahead and contact me. We'll schedule a free
30 minute in-office consultation to discuss your situation and how therapy could help.
