Are you and your partner unable to resolve conflict
?
Do you long for more relationship connection and intimacy?

If you're going over the same ground again and again without resolution, it might be time to invest in couples or marriage counseling.

Contact me and we'll schedule a free 30 minute in-office consultation to discuss your situation and how therapy can help.  (503) 827-0199 or danbernlpc@aol.com

During 14 years of clinical practice, my focus on marriage and couples counseling has resulted in this therapeutic approach:

Phase 1: Practice with the communication skills needed to create a more positive relationship environment.  This will include learning about reactivity in difficult conversations, ways to reduce defensiveness and resolve conflict

Phase 2: Exploring the history of the current relationship, what brought you together and what has led to distance and dissatisfaction over the years.  As we identify contributing factors and events, we'll work to heal those more recent wounds and increase relationship connection and trust.

Phase 3: The deeper exploration of earlier relationships, especially those from childhood and the influences of those formative experiences.  We'll look at how you came to see yourself as you grew up and the relationship style you developed in those early years.  Along the way, we'll work to heal any childhood wounds in an effort to increase your personal and relationship happiness.
